UFC: Nate Diaz handed a 90-day suspension post controversial loss
Nate Diaz has been just handed a 90-day medical suspension for suffering the cut that caused the controversial end to his BMF title showdown against Masvidal.

The BMF title encounter between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 was called off after the third round of the fight due to medical stoppage after the Octagon-side doctors intervened and deemed Diaz to be unable to go to further rounds, thanks to the gruesome cuts to his face.
Nate, however, was lagging on all the judge's scorecards when the doctor stepped in to put an abrupt halt to the showdown.
Nate Diaz shrugged off the damage around his right eye to demand an immediate rematch against Masvidal, who was newly crowned the Baddest Mother F***** by the legendary Dwayne Johnson.

Diaz has now been handed a medical suspension, which would prevent him from competing for the next 90 days to allow the cuts on his face to fully heal and recover from the bout, whilst Jorge Masvidal has received a 30-day suspension. This will keep Nate Diaz away from competitions until early February next year.
Masvidal was quick to offer Diaz a rematch, following the controversial decision victory while it was clear that Masvidal was ahead on the scorecard.

Apparently, Nate Diaz was not the only fighter at UFC 244 to pick up a 90-day suspension. Former NCAA champion Gregor Gillespie was handed the same amount of time away from the cage after a brutal knockout by Kevin Lee.
UFC Updates: Nate Diaz to undergo plastic surgery
This is not the first time the Stockholm native has suffered a brutal cut to the face. Nate Diaz and has struggled with it throughout his MMA career. The UFC President Dana White opened up on the situation post the fight and revealed that Nate Diaz could undergo plastic surgery after getting sewed up in order to get the cartilage out of his eyebrow.
