WWE: SAURAV GURJAR is an Indian born actor who has now shifted his career to pursuing WWE. He is amongst the few Indians to have stepped onto the WWE ring.

Saurav Gurjar a famous Indian television actor, he is quite popular for playing roles in mythological series. Having starred in popular mythological dramas such as “Mahabharat” and “Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman.” he has garnered quite a following. However, he switched his career and taken on the path to become a WWE wrestler. In his early days, Gurjar was an avid kickboxer, he also has a good physique with a towering height of 6.8 feet. Getting into the WWE however isn’t as easy, and requires a lot of training and preparations. Saurav joins the WWE performance center this week, with fellow Indian Rinku Singh. A former national champion in kickboxing with a diverse background playing sports throughout college, including wrestling, basketball, and boxing.

Gurjar has qualified the WWE tryouts in 2016 in UAE and gradually ended up signing a WWE developmental contract to join the professional wrestlers in WWE. Saurav is from Madhya Pradesh and was into kickboxing before joining the Indian television line. He spent almost a year training at the WWE performance center and finally made his NXT debut. The 33-year-old hasn't yet made his TV debut and instead performs in front of live audiences at NXT.
In an interview, Gurjar said “I am fighting in NXT right now. I am training along with fellow Indian athletes Rinku Singh, Jeet Rama at the WWE Performance Centre. We have started performing in front of live audiences. We are fighting tag team matches, and we have also begun our individual fights as well. We are trying our level best with whatever opportunities coming our way to impress Mr.Triple H so that he gives us an opportunity to appear on the television because the live (NXT) matches that we get here are not aired.”
The possibility of landing his greatest role of becoming a WWE Superstar arose last April. Gurjar joined 40 male and female athletes at an invitation-only tryout in Dubai. It was an opportunity he made the most of. It was here where he signed a developmental contract with WWE.

“I don’t want money. I don’t want fame,” Gurjar told WWE.com last April. “I want my dream.”
