NXT: The journey of Indian actor Saurav Gurjar in the WWE so far
WWE NXT star Gurjar Singh has made an incredible journey from being an Indian TV actor to a WWE NXT star. Know more about his incredible story and rise.

The WWE has never failed to showcase its affection towards India. The wrestling entertainment brand has been focussing more on the Indian market over the years. The success of the likes of The Great Khali and Jinder Mahal have encouraged Indian wrestlers to aspire for making a mark of their own in the WWE. One such wrestler is Saurav Gurjar, who has already made a big impact in the WWE NXT since his debut in 2018 and is all set for a promotion to the main roster in the near future.

Saurav Gurjar's WWE Journey
Saurav Gurjar, the 34-year-old who hails from Gwalior, is a well-known face on Indian television even before he decided to make a switch to the WWE. The former actor was seen in the famous reality show ‘Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’ and the TV serial ‘Mahabharata’. Apart from his acting skills, Gurjar has been blessed with a lot more. The current WWE NXT star has won the gold medal in a Kick Boxing Championship in Indore and has appeared in 'Ring Ka King', in which he gained popularity as a wrestler.
In 2018, he was finally approached by the WWE at an invitation event in Dubai. Gurjar joined 40 male and female athletes at a WWE Tryout in India and he was selected for the NXT roster. Since then, he has been an active face in the WWE NXT along with his partner Rinku Singh. After the rise of the Great Khali and Jinder Mahal, India found its next WWE Superstars for future. Gurjar made his WWE debut with Singh in a tag-team match against Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. Though Gurjar and Rinku lost the match, their performance was filled with a lot of promise for the future.

Gurjar Singh has been a prominent face in NXT live events. He brands himself as an Indian monk (sadhu) inside the WWE ring and shows no mercy against his opponents. He started 2019 by making his presence in the 'Unleash The Universe' Tournament in which he made it to the semifinals. The duo of Gurjar Singh and Rinku Singh is going strong and WWE may add them in their main roster in the coming future.
