WWE Payback results: John Cena makes debut as a host, new champions crowned
Let's take a look at what happened at WWE Payback, where Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Namakura was in the main event, and John Cena was the host of the night.

An action-packed, adrenaline-fueled, gripping night of Payback took over the wrestling space across continents and provided superlative entertainment. From Hell in a Cell contest to a no-disqualification 2 vs 2 which turned into 2 vs. 5, the pay-per-view had everything for fight enthusiasts. Thus, without further ado, let's take a look at what happened on the night.

WWE Payback: Major talking points
A total of four titles were on the line at the event, which was hosted by none other than the 16-time World Champion John Cena. While Cena was not on the card, yet, he became a part of a match. In a fun back-and-forth on the mic with The Miz, Cena announced that he will be the guest referee of the A-listers match against LA Knight. Cena did a good job in the white stripes and had a face-off with both the superstars during the fight.
In another segment, Grayson Waller welcomed Cody Rhodes as the guest in Greyson Waller Effect, following a sitting conversation, The American Nightmare brought forward perhaps the biggest surprise of the night. Rhodes announced Jey Uso's arrival. The music hit and the loud "Let's Go Uss" ensued inside the PPG Paints Arena. Jey Uso will now be a part of the WWE Raw roster.
WWE Payback results
- Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus: The event kicked off with a hell-in-a-cell encounter between The Man and 7-time women's champion Trish Stratus. It was seen as a conclusion of their long-extended feud. In a thrilling encounter, Lynch prevailed.
- The Miz vs. LA Knight: The match had arguably the best build-up and when they finally collided in the ring, it did not disappoint. LA Knight, who has unquestionably become the new fan favorite in the last couple of months, picked up the win after an even fight.
- Rey Mysterio vs Austin Theory: In a rematch for the US Title, Rey Mysterio and Austin Theory thoroughly entertained the crowd and Mysterio once again secured the win via pinfall. This time though it was a roll-up win.
- Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens vs. Damian Priest and Finn Balow: This was arguably the best match of the night as both teams went to the distance in the no-disqualification match. The number game got the better of Zayn and Owens, and hence the new tag team champions were crowned at the event.
- Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez: As a member of Judgment Day, Rhea Ripley got support from "Dirty" Dom. Raquel Rodriguez was made to look equal before Rhea Ripley, and considerably dominated Mami on occasions in the match. However, due to an interference caused by Dom Dom, Ripley retained the Women's championship.
- Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: The Crowd matched the "Ohhs" with the themes of both superstars. The match had a slow beginning but steadily it picked pace. Both men exchanged momentum multiple times in the match. Near fall after near fall, Seth Freakin Rollins found the way out and retained the WWE Heavyweight Title.
