WWE RAW on Monday night will see three-time World Champion and 'Future Hall-of-Famer' Rey Mysterio return to the ring. Mysterio will be in the ring up against Gran Metalik of the 'Lucha House Party' stable from 205 Live. Rey Mysterio was taken out by a shoulder injury that occured when a bitter Samoa Joe reportedly beat him up after their match at Money In The Bank. Mysterio relinquished his US Title to Samoa Joe on the 3rd June edition of RAW earlier this year.

Coming Back For The US Title?

Before the setback of the shoulder injury, the WWE RAW's biggest underdog became the United States Champion at the 2019 Money In The Bank that took place in May 2019. The win was extremely controversial as both of Samoa Joe's shoulders were not pinned when the referee proceeded to make the three count that handed Mysterio the belt. Joe, who wasn't happy with the result, then reportedly proceeded to attack Mysterio in front of his son, Dominick, who was celebrating his father's win. Mysterio sustained a shoulder injury from the attack which became the cause of his hiatus from the WWE for the last three months.

Before taking time off from the WWE, Mysterio did the "honourable thing" and gave up the US Championship to Samoa who he felt was deserving of the belt. The interaction didn't end amicably as Samoa Joe proceeded to beat up an injured Mysterio, which many consider furthered his injury. The question on every fan's mind is Joe reacts when Mysterio returns to the ring. Will Rey Mysterio feud with Samoa Joe or will the Master of the 619 go after A.J. Styles and the US Championship which currently rests on his shoulder? 

WWE Monday: Here's What To Expect 

The WWE RAW match today is being seen as the perfect high-profile comeback to the ring. What makes the comeback even more thrilling is the fact that his opponent Gran Metallik is a fellow-countryman. The match, which will be before the Madison Square Garden audience, is slated to have high-stakes given the fact that Mysterio was rumoured to retire until a few weeks ago and would need the much-needed win. On the other hand, for Metallik, the match is being seen as a big opportunity to finally shine as a singles star.

Dominic's Involvement

It will also be interesting to see if Mysterio's son, Dominic, is more involved with the WWE as his father returns to the ring. Dominic, 22, is no stranger to the WWE as he has been seen on-screen multiple times along with his father. Dominic was even the center of a 2005 feud between the late Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio when Guerrero claimed that he was Dominic's biological father and demanded custody. Dominic has been more and more involved with the WWE recently with Mysterio even sharing videos of him training in the ring.  Before becoming a full-fledged member of the roster, it is considered that Dominic may get more integrated with other superstars through his father's feuds and friendships-- inside and outside the ring.
