Big Show issued a well-intentioned warning to Cain Velasquez that his match against Brock Lesnar might not go the way he wished. On the premiere episode of SmackDown, Velasquez had launched a surprise assault on Lesnar, shocking the audience. After the attack, WWE slotted a title match between Lesnar and Velasquez at the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia on October 31, 2019.
Big Show is no stranger to the threat that Brock Lesnar poses, having gone head-to-head against the WWE champion on several occasions. The gruesomeness of their encounters can be gauged from their match in 2003 when they broke the ring with a superplex. Now that Velasquez has an official fight booked against Lesnar, Big Show has urged him to be wary of Lesnar.
Show said that he has been wrestling for 25 years and he has never seen a monster like Brock Lesnar. He also stated that he has never seen any wrestler be so passionate about their progression like Lesnar has been for the past few years. Show said that Lesnar was stronger, faster, and seasoned now. Lesnar is more confident and tough, Show said.
While Lesnar has been running rampant in the WWE locker room, he has had some trouble in the past with Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins. But for the most part, Lesnar has been a beast in the ring. His match with Kofi Kingston was over in mere minutes with Lesnar emerging the winner.
Velasquez’s beaten Lesnar in the past
While Big Show’s warning is well-intentioned, a fascinating fact is that Velasquez has beaten Lesnar in the past. In 2010, Velasquez defeated Lesnar in the UFC Competition via a technical knockout. It can only be hoped that the Velasquez versus Lesnar match would be one for the history books, considering the two opponents are well-matched.
