Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Shares Heartfelt Message After Afa Anoa'i's Passing
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johson took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message for his uncle Afa Anoa'i after his passing a few days ago.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the biggest superstars in the world in terms of both WWE and Hollywood. He belongs to a family of wrestlers all of whom have been a part of WWE and left their mark on the ring. Recently on 16th August,2024 one half of the legendary and WWE Hall of Fame tag team The Wild Samoans, Afa Anoa'i passed away at the age of 81.
He was The Rock's uncle. In light of his passing, the Hollywood star took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message.
The Rock's Heartfelt Message
The Rock in his message on Instagram started off with saying," Rest in Love Uncle Afa. Uncle Afa Anoa’i is finally at peace with his brother, Uncle Sika Anoa’i." He paid tribute to the brother as Sika Anoa'i had also passed away sometime back and how now both brothers were at peace together.
He followed that up with, “ The Wild Samoans were trailblazers in the world of professional wrestling. Multi-time WWE tag team champions and eventually, bestowed their rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.” He also took to paying tribute to the Wild Samoans Tag Team as they were one of the most iconic and legenadary tag-teams in the world of pro-wrestling.
“The last picture is one of my all time favorites- it’s my uncles Afa and Sika with my grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia and Tor Kamata. What I love about this picture is you can SEE & FEEL the LOVE & MANA amongst these smiling, loving men. You can also see and feel that this wasn’t a table you wanted to f*ck with,” The Rock further added to his message referring to the last photo in the gallery of photos he had posted along with his heartfelt message.
The People's Champion ended the message with, “I love you uncle and I’ll never forget what you did for our family in ‘87. ‘Come to me’ Nashville to Bethlehem. Give my grandpa and my dad a kiss and a hug from me.”
The Legacy Of The Anoa'i Family
The Anoa'i family has seen several generations from their family go into professional wrestling and make it big. It started with the Wild Samoans and then carried forward with Rocky Johnson, Umaga, Yokozuna, Dwayne "The Rock' Johnson and many more.
Currently several members of the family still wrestle in WWE including superstar Roman Reigns, The Usos and Solo Sikoa.
