Kevin Owens Opens Up About How He Wanted The Best For Cody Rhodes On The Champ's Indie Start

WWE Superstar Kevin Owens is all set to face his friend Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Championship at Bash In Berlin pay-per-view on 31st August. What a lot of people don't know is that Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes go way back when Cody Rhodes had left WWE and was starting out in the independent scenes. Recently Kevin Owens opened up about how he had helped Cody Rhodes establish himself as a wrestler on the indie scenes of wrestling. This was during the time when Cody had left WWE back in 2016. 

The fans are extremely excited to see the two friends face off in a good booking by the WWE. 

Kevin Owens Opens Up About Cody Rhodes 

Recently, Kevin Owens gave an interview with SHAK Wrestling. In the interview he opened up about the past when Rhodes had left WWE in 2016.

"I really wanted him to have the best possible introduction to the independent scene because he had never been around, he had never done that, "At the time he had already been in the WWE system for so long, and the independent scene is a whole different ball game from what WWE is. So I just guided him in the right direction and put him in touch with The Young Bucks knowing they would take care of him, and I knew they'd hit it off, and they did, I was right," said Owens about Cody's time in the indie scene. 

Cody And Owens Big Fight In Berlin

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens have been friends on-screen and off-screen as Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens together have been trying to take down Solo Sikoa's Bloodline and save each other from their attacks. After Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa, Rhodes offered a title match to his friend Kevin Owens and things are starting to heat up between the two friends.

The two superstars will face off against each other at Bash In Berlin on 31st August.
