Top 5 moments of WWE in 2023: From the return of CM Punk to the rise of LA Knight
Many legends of WWE made their comeback in 2023, let's rewatch the most famous and top moments of WWE 2023.
The year 2023 is coming to an end, and this year has offered fans so many moments to remember for the rest of their lives. This year also brought some changes, like the introduction of the World Heavyweight Championship; Triple H served his first full year as the CCO (Chief Content Officer) and also shattered so many records.
WWE has been one of the most popular sports of all time, and there were many comebacks in 2023. So here’s the list of the 5 most favourite WWE moments in 2023.
The Rock’s Comeback:
The WWE Universe went gaga when the entry music of The Rock tuned into the arena on September 15th, Smackdown. The Rock was in the same state in which the Smackdown was taking place; the WWE didn’t reveal anything about the return. The Rock came out in the opening segment of the show and dismantled the Austin Theory.
John Cena also shared a warm hug with the people’s champion backstage.
The Return of John Cena:
John Cena made his return to the WWE in 2023. First, he returned on the road to Wrestlemania 39. He also accepted the challenge of Austin Theory but faced a defeat at Wrestlemania 39. John Cena again made a comeback in September-October as WWE announced the mega appearance across two months and the legend accepted the invite. He also traveled to India for his debut match in the country during the September-October return.
CM Punk's Famous Comeback:
CM Punk, the most famous WWE superstar, made his return in 2023, and it was the most famous WWE comeback of all time. Punk left WWE on a very bad note almost a decade ago, and his return was never expected. The former WWE champion made his comeback at the end of the Survivor Series. He made the deal with WWE after his contract with AEW ended.
The Rise of LA Knight:
LA Knight might be one of the most famous WWE superstars in the year 2023. There are days when the whole arena chanted ‘Yeah’, every time his music started. He may be the biggest pops throughout the year. In 2023, LA Knight became really popular with fans, even when he wasn't wrestling. WWE noticed this and paired him up with John Cena to face Roman Reigns and the Bloodline. Unfortunately, like everyone else, Knight couldn't beat Reigns for the title.
Randy Orton Returns After 18 Months
Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn's team were going to face Drew McIntyre and Judgement Day. The good guys needed one more man on their side, so Cody Rhodes gave a call to his old friend Randy Orton, who had been out of commission for 18 months due to an attack by Bloodline. He reappeared in Survivor Series 2023: War Games, where he joined team Cody Rhodes as their fifth member and contributed to their victory over Judgement Day. Later, in an attempt to exact revenge on Roman Reigns and the Bloodline, he signed with SmackDown. At the Royal Rumble, he'll probably challenge Roman for the unchallenged title.
