WWE aim to elevate top free agent once signed
Since shutting down the NXT UK brand, the WWE has been in talks to bring up the NXT Europe brand that will bring up wrestlers and breakout stars from the European circuit and around. To do so, the brand needs to have some of the elite faces to help it elevate to the next level, and WWE has just the same plan in mind with Will Ospreay.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer recently revealed insight into WWE's plans for Ospreay. He revealed that there is talk within WWE about centring the NXT Europe show on Ospreay.
“One idea that was thrown at me was the idea of NXT Europe built around Will Ospreay. How much money they’re gonna spend on that [I don’t know]? The revival of NXT Europe starts that thing of…obviously, what happened with the original NXT UK and its effect on the independent scene in England, it really hurt it badly.”
Will Ospreay consider moving to the US?
Will Ospreay is currently serving his term with the New Japan Pro Wrestling and will be with them until early 2024. Surprisingly, the superstar wrestler may consider living in the US, something he has been hesitant about in the past.
The current IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion has wrestled in the States. he has been a part of the action in AEW. Most recently, he was a part of the IMPACT PPV. While these companies are certainly on the run, WWE could also keep their case in front of Ospreay when his deal expires.
