WWE Crown Jewel: Lesnar vs Velasquez match preview, what to expect

Brock Lesnar shocked everyone when he defeated Kofi Kingston in just nine seconds and won the WWE championship title on the debut episode of SmackDown on FOX. However, before anyone could recollect what just happened, Rey Mysterio came to the ring with Cain Velasquez. The master of 619 who was brutalised by Lesnar a few weeks ago asked for Velasquez’s help and the former UFC Heavyweight Champion responded by debuting in WWE.

Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez: SmackDown Debut episode

If you are unaware, Velasquez knocked out Lesnar to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship from him. After his defeat, Lesnar was unable to fight for months. On SmackDown's match, Velasquez took Lesnar down and punished him by delivering several punches to the Beast. Lesnar later fled from the ring with Paul Hayman and his WWE Championship belt. Later, in an interview, Velasquez revealed his real motive to come to SmackDown. Velasquez said that he was there because of what Lesnar did earlier in RAW. Lesnar assaulted Mysterio and his son Dominick which made him angry and being Mysterio’s friend he decided to arrive in SmackDown.

Last week on SmackDown

Last week, Lesnar was scheduled to meet Velasquez in the ring for a face-to-face talk, but that didn’t happen. When Rey Mysterio called out Lesnar on behalf of Velasquez, Paul Heyman and The Beast appeared on the screen and refused to meet the duo. Instead, Heyman revealed that they are backstage and Lesnar was seen beating down Mysterio's son, Dominic. Mysterio and Velasquez then left the ring and rushed to save Dominic. Later, when the duo took Dominic to the trainer’s room, The Beast struck again and attacked Mysterio and Velasquez with a trash can. He then delivered an F5 to both the wrestlers and left them lying on the floor.

WWE Crown Jewel Lesnar vs Velasquez: What to expect

When Lesnar faces Velasquez on the Crown Jewel PPV, there are chances that he will face defeat. This will make both the characters get more layers and a future match between the two could sell many tickets. It is possible that the two will face each other again in WrestleMania, where Lesnar could defeat Velasquez.
