PUBG addiction among the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans has sparked a new debate. According to reports, CRPF has instructed commanding officers to impose a ban on PUBG Mobile among the troops as it affects their operational and socialising capabilities. CRPF called for a ban on PUBG Mobile after an internal survey showed the Jawans were getting addicted to the online multiplayer battle royale game.
According to a senior CRPF officer posted in the paramilitary force’s Delhi headquarters, PUBG addiction was affecting the jawans’ operational capabilities. The addiction also led many Jawans to stop socialising with their fellow Jawans.
“It has also led to sleep deprivation because of reduced physical activity,” the officer said.
Of late, PUBG addiction has become the topic of heated debates and arguments in India and the recent, May 6 order issued by the CRPF’s Bihar unit is only going to add fuel to the fire.
“It has been reportedly learnt that CRPF troops, young personnel are addicted to PUBG app. It’s a game app and getting these men addicted to it and getting them engaged to great extent which is affecting their ops performance, aggressive and attitudinal issues,” said the May 6 order issued by the Bihar unit," the order said.
“All deputy inspectors-general (DIGs) to ensure and instruct all unit/company personnel under your command to get it deleted/deactivated such apps from their mobile phones. All company commanders will ensure that this app is deleted in all phones and random check of phones should be done,” it added.
In related news, PUBG addiction is increasingly becoming a worrying concern among the parents. One of the most important things that need to be addressed is the addiction among those who play PUBG Mobile. There have been multiple cases of aggression due to PUBG addiction.
Last month, a class IX student committed suicide after his parents scolded him for playing PUBG Mobile. Now, this is the extent to which the addiction to PUBG has reached in India where parents have often been seen concerned about their children's addiction to mobile gaming.
