iPhone hacks: How to transfer all images from Google Photos to iCloud Photos

Google Photos to iCloud Photos image and video transfer: One of the biggest challenges that users face while switching from an Android photo to an iPhone is lack of interoperability between apps native to the two platforms. This lack of interoperability makes it difficult for users to transfer their data from Android phone to a new iPhone. Thankfully, Apple and Google offer a feature that enable users to transfer all of their images and videos from Google Photos to iCloud Photos.

All users need for this feature to work is ample iCloud storage space and the iCloud Photos feature on the iPhone to be turned on. To turn on this feature, users must first open the Settings app on the iPhone, then tap the Profile Name to access Photos under the iCloud option and then tapping the button next to Sync this device option.

Here is an easy guide that Android users can follow to transfer all of their Google Photos images and videos to iCloud Photos:

Step 1: Open Google Takeout on a personal computer or a laptop. Users can pick any browser of their choice.

Step 2: Next, select Google Photos under the 'Choose the data you want to copy' section on the Google Takeout screen and then click the Continue button.

Step 3: Enter the password of your Google Account from which you want to transfer photos and video. 

Step 4: Click the Continue button to initiate the process.

Step 5: In the 'Select the third-party service you want to move your copy to' section, select ‘ Apple -iCloud Photos’ and then click on the Continue button.

Step 6: Sign into your Apple Account by typing the connected Email ID and the password.

Step 7: On doing so, Apple will try to verify the move by showing a six-digit code on the iPhone or the iPad. Enter this Apple Account Verification Code in the space provided on the PC screen.

Step 8: Next, click on the Allow button to give Google Takeout permission to transfer all the images and videos from Google Photos to iCloud Photos.

It is worth noting that Apple will send users a notification when it starts the process of transferring photos and videos starts from Google Photos to iCloud Photos. It will show a similar notification when the process ends. This notification will be displayed in the form of an email associated with the Apple Account. Apple device users will be able to access all the photos and videos transferred from Google Photos to iCloud Photos in the album called 'Import from Google'.
