Sony PSN Name Change Feature Now Widely Live: Check Out How To Change Your Current Name, Game Compatibility

The most expected Sony PlayStation Name,PSN name change feature is now live for Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) users across the world. This means that you could now set custom names as your PSN name rather than the boring default stuff.

How to change PSN Name?

To change your PSN name, you would require a PS4 console, or you could change this online through a web browser. For the PSN name change, follow the steps mentioned below:

Through the Sony PS4 console

• Within your PS4 consoles, launch Settings
• Then, navigate to Account Management > Account Information > Profile > Online ID
• Key in the PSN name which you would want to set, or select one from the custom default suggestions
• Follow on-screen instructions to effect the PSN name change completely.

Through any web browser

• Launch the web browser and sign in to your PlayStation Network account
• Then choose PSN Profile in Menu
• Select Edit, present adjacent to your current PSN name
• Key-in the PSN name which you would want to set, or select from the suggestions mentioned
• Follow on-screen instructions to complete changing your current PSN name

Here you should note that the PSN Name change (PSN Online ID) can be effected only through a web browser or Sony PS4 console it is not possible for you to carry out the PSN Name change through the older PS3 or PS Vita console.

It costs for repeated changes

The first instance of Online PSN name (PSN name change) is free and any modifications after this first change would set you back by $9.99. If you are a PlayStation Plus member, then you would be required to shell out $4.99 for every change you make after your first free change.

Also, you could revert to your old PSN name, after you have set a new PSN name, for free. It would not cost to go back to your old Online name. When you change your Online ID, you would be presented with an option to display your old PSN name adjacent to your new PSN Name within your profile for a period of 30 days. With this, your friends would be able to easily recognize you online.
