Check real-time AQI using Google Maps: Air quality in the northern parts of India is deteriorating fast with the AQI crossing the 450 mark in the national capital. While the government is taking active measures to lower down the pollution levels, air quality continues to remain a cause of concern for people in the north, especially around the National Capital Region.

There are many apps in the market that show air quality index and other related details to users in real time. Beyond these dedicated apps, commuters can also use Google Maps to plan their travel. Here is a detailed guide using which Google Maps users can check the AQI in the area where they are planning to travel to in real time.

Google Maps AQI colour coding explained

AQI ranging between 0 and 50 is marked in Green and it indicates that the air quality is good. The AQI ranging between 51 and 100 is indicated by a slightly lighter green colour and it indicates that the air quality is satisfactory. AQI ranging between 101 and 200 is marked in Yellow and it indicates that the air is moderately polluted air.

On the other hand, AQI ranging between 201 to 300 is highlighted in orange and it indicates poor air quality, while red colour on the map indicates very poor air quality with AQI ranging between 301 and 400.
