Amazon India is looking to strengthen its delivery capacity. Amazon is now expanding its supply-chain network to over 1,400 delivery stations across India. Amazon's expansion plan comes into effect ahead of the festive season. Amazon has about 23,000 retail outlets across the country. These retail outlets carry out last-mile delivery stores under its 'I Have Space' programme. The announcement comes right after Flipkart on boards 27,000 Kirana stores to be a part of its supply chain.

"In preparation for the festive season this year, we have significantly scaled our delivery programmes and focused our efforts on -- widening the reach of our direct delivery network, enabling speed... and improving their delivery experience," Amazon India Vice-President (India Customer Fulfilment) Akhil Saxena said in a statement. Indian e-commerce companies are expected see a large chunk of their sales coming in during festive sales.
