Google Assistant now supports more devices. Google showcased a whole new line-up of products at the on-going IFA 2019 trade show in Berlin, Germany, supporting its virtual assistant. In addition to the set of existing products, Google has brought the Assistant to new speakers, headphones, TVs, smart home appliances, among other devices including phones. Apparently, the primary focus of Google Assistant is on now IoT-enabled home devices in order to help people get the most out of its virtual assistant. Aiming to expand the reach of Google Assistant, Google has partnered with several companies for their products.
Ambient Mode
Google Assistant aims to make your Android phones and tablets more helpful in the home. Now, Google Assistant offers a new Ambient Mode. It's a new visual overview that makes it easier to see notifications and reminders. Google wants to let users control their smart devices right on the lockscreen of your Android device. What's more, you can also start a playlist and more. When not active, your screen will turn into a personal digital photo frame linked to your Google Photos account. Apparently, it works only when your device is placed on its smart charging station or kickstand. Ambient Mode will first arrive on the upcoming Lenovo Smart Tab M8 HD, Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab, new Nokia 7.2 and 6.2.
"With the Google Assistant, we’re helping you get things done around the house—whether your hands are full in the kitchen, you’re too tired to get up from the couch after a long day or you’re rushing to get out of the door. Just ask the Assistant to play your favorite show, turn off the lights, arm your security system, pre-heat the oven or set the thermostat to 72 degrees," said Chris Turkstra, Product Management Director, Google Assistant. What's more, the Lenovo Smart Display 7 comes with visual features of the Google Assistant, so does Lenovo Smart Clock.
