American search engine and technology giant Google has launched its own range of foldable phones under the Pixel range, after Samsung’s Z Plus range last year took the world by storm.
“The Pixel Fold, our first foldable phone, made its big debut in 2023. Meanwhile, we continued our A-series with Pixel 7a, and we launched Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Our latest Pixel series is powered by Google Tensor G3 and sports a new batch of pro-level camera features,” the company said in a blogpost last week.

Google also introduced Chromebook Plus, an AI-driven laptop with features and tools for consumers to step up their laptop game.
The devices have been developed in partnership with Acer, Asus, HP and Lenovo, and are aimed at users unfamiliar with PC specs and come with faster processors and offer double memory and storage compared to non-Plus variants.
2. Jio

Closer home, Reliance under its tech and telecom arm Jio launched the JioBook 4G laptop with JioOS operating system that offers SIM card connectivity and cloud storage at an affordable price of under Rs 20,000.
This is a significant development, after government imposed restrictions on import of laptops citing national security concerns.
