OnePlus TV to support Dolby Vision, pack 8 speakers
The OnePlus TV is expected to offer premium smart TV experiences akin to a Sony or Samsung, but of course, at OnePlus’ hallmark aggressive pricing.
The OnePlus TV is coming soon with rumor mills suggesting, OnePlus may launch the product as soon as on September 26. The OnePlus TV will launch first in India. OnePlus has already confirmed a few key specs of its upcoming TV, and now it has revealed some more information through a dedicated ‘notify-me’ landing page on online retail website Amazon India.
Expected to offer premium TV experience
The OnePlus TV is expected to offer premium smart TV experiences akin to a Sony or Samsung, but of course, at OnePlus’ hallmark aggressive pricing. The 55-inch QLED OnePlus TV will support both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technologies. There will also be 8 speakers in all for a combined output of 50W to seemingly offer “punchy bass to fill your living room.”
OnePlus has previously confirmed that the OnePlus TV will be based on Android with some sort of OnePlus skin on top. The emphasis of the whole user interface would be on smooth and fast experience across the board, just like how things are on-board the company’s OxygenOS-based smartphones.
Global launch in India
The OnePlus TV is OnePlus’ first stint at making a high-end smart TV and the fact that it is looking up to India to globally announce the product here goes to show how critical this market is for the brand in question. Rumor also has it that OnePlus may debut the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro phones during the same keynote event on September 26.
The OnePlus 7T is said to get a big upgrade over the OnePlus 7 – while the OnePlus 7T Pro may be just another incremental update over the OnePlus 7 Pro. The OnePlus 7T will reportedly come with a 6.55-inch 2K AMOLED display with what could be a segment first 90Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus 7T is also said to come with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 855+ processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. Battery capacity is said to get a slight boost too with the OnePlus 7T getting a 3,800mAh pack. The OnePlus 7T is further said to come with three rear cameras – a 48MP main, and a 16MP+12MP combo that will be capable of shooting 960FPS slow-mo and wide-angle videos.
