Xiaomi Redmi A4 5G launched in India with 5G connectivity: Check price, specs, availability

Redmi A4 5G launch: Xiaomi launched a new budget 5G smartphone in India today. The newly launched Redmi A4 5G is a part of the Redmi's A-series smartphones, which also includes the Redmi A3, the Redmi A3X and the Redmi A2+ to name a few. It competes with the likes of the Tecno Spark 30C 5G, Redmi 13C 5G and the Realme Narzo N65 5G -- phones under Rs 10,000 that offer 5G connectivity.

Redmi A4 5G India price and availability

The Redmi A4 5G comes in two storage variants in India. The base variant sports 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space and is priced at Rs 8,499, while the top variant comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space and is priced at Rs 9,499. Both these variants will be available in India in Starry Black and Sparkle Purple colour variants starting November 27 via Mi.com, Amazon, Xiaomi retail stores, and other retail partners.

Redmi A4 5G specifications and features

The Redmi A4 5G features a halo glass sandwich design at the back. On the front, it has a 6.88-inch LCD HD+ display with a resolution of 1640 x 720 pixels, a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz, up to 600 nits of peak brightness and TUV Rhineland low blue light certification. Additionally, it has a water-drop notch on the top.

The newly launched Redmi A4 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s gen 2 chipset that is coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage space. Additionally, it offers up to 8GB of virtual RAM and it runs Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS out-of-the-box. Xiaomi is promising to provide two years of Android updates and four years of security updates to the buyers.

Coming to the camera, the Redmi A4 5G sports a 50MP camera at the back with 4-in-1 pixel binning technology. On the front, it has a 5MP front facing camera. Xiaomi says that the Redmi A4 5G's camera also supports up to 25MP of video capturing feature at 30fps with zero shutter lag.

Talking about the battery, the Redmi A4 5G is backed by a 5160mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging support. On the connectivity front, it has dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v5.0.
