5G demos by Jio at IMC 2019: Virtual classroom, FHD streaming and more
Reliance Jio and Samsung are together showcasing their 5G use case scenarios at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2019. Here is everything you need to know.
Reliance Jio and Samsung are together showcasing 5G use case scenarios at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2019. IMC is being held between October 14-16 in New Delhi. Jio also says it has developed the world's largest green-field and IP based 4G LTE network with the help of Samsung, together claiming to support more than 340 million LTE subscribers as of August this year. At IMC, Jio and Samsung are demonstrating how 5G can benefit both users and enterprises.
Samsung and Jio highlight applications demonstrating the value of 5G technology in India. It will feature solutions from Samsungs 5G product portfolio, including its 3.5GHz MIMO Unit, 28GHz Access Unit, 5G mobile devices and more. Jio's 5G demos include a virtual classroom, concurrent 1080p content streaming on multiple devices, etc.
5G use cases demonstration
Thanks to Jio's Virtual Classroom, attendees can watch 360-degree virtual lecture taken from a classroom in Jio’s Reliance Corporate Park (RCP) in Mumbai. It also shows how you can achieve 1080p and 4K video streaming on multiple devices simultaneously.
"We as Jio, working closely with key partners like Samsung will ensure that we continue to help India leapfrog traditional technologies by advancing the existing 4G all-IP infrastructure and leverage the end-to-end fibre, 5G, and IoT ecosystems towards a digital infrastructure platform," said Mathew Oommen, President of Reliance Jio.

Samsung and Jio will continue to join forces in bringing next-generation innovation across the country, harnessing the full potential of 5G in driving further growth of a Digital India," said Paul Kyungwhoon Cheun, Executive VP and Head of Networks Business at Samsung.
'5 trillion dollar economy'
Mahendra Nahata, Director on Board of Reliance Jio, said on Monday India is poised to become a 5 trillion dollar economy by 2024. He was speaking at IMC 2019. He said Jio covers more than 96 per cent of 'Indian population.' Nahata also said Jio is moving towards 99 per cent of population coverage by the end of this fiscal year including.
