With 5G being a key focal point now as far as next-gen smartphones are concerned, the first set of these handsets could now be showcased as early as in the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019). These phones would be demo phones and not live devices.
Now, as per a Korea Herald report, consumer technology enthusiasts could witness handsets from brands viz LG and Samsung. These would be 5G-compatible phones. The company is also rumoured to be working with major carriers viz AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon with respect to rolling out and incorporating the next-gen 5G network standards.
Also, LG is rumoured to showcase its own 5G compatible handsets; and rumour mills are rife with this smartphone being a enhanced variant of the LG G7 ThinQ that was launched and released during the first part of 2018. Hence, it only makes sense to keep eyes and ears open during the month of February 2018 as there could be plentiful next-gen smartphone releases.
