Xiaomi’s Redmi 7 may now be launched on March 18, representing a time period almost immediately after the launch of the Redmi Note 7 Pro (the 48MP camera smartphone) that was launched in India. The latest smartphone would be a mid-range - similar to a multitude of Redmi handsets, which means that the pricing of the device could be affordably competitive.

As per a MyDrivers report (translated) which quotes Redmi CEO Lei Jun who has seemingly teased a new smartphone cryptically and in codes, the March 18 event could witness the unveiling of the purported Redmi 7. At this point in time, it is worth noting that the Redmi Note 7 Pro that was launched globally in India is slated to be launched in China during the March 18 event. If latest rumour mills are anything to go by, then the Redmi 7 could be launched in this very same event.

As for the specifications of the Redmi 7, the smartphone is also said to have received TENAA certification. Rumour mills are abuzz with the fact that the handset would feature a 6.2-inch display, Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system with MIUI 10 on top, 12MP rear camera, 8MP front snapper, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and at least 4000 mAh battery.

At this point in time, the Redmi Note 7 Pro that is now official is considered as an important phone (by Xiaomi loyalists) in the Indian scheme of things. Here, it becomes only imminent to check out the key technical aspects offered by this smartphone. These are:

  • 6.3-inch display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and approximately 409 ppi
  • Android 9.0 (Pie) operating platform with MIUI 10 on top
  • Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC
  • 48MP + 5MP dual rear cameras
  • 13MP front camera
  • 4 GB, 6 GB RAM editions
  • 64 GB, 128 GB internal storage based on RAM
  • LTE, HSPA, Bluetooth 5.0, WI-Fi, USB 2.0 connectivity
  • 4000 mAh battery.
