Hilarious! Redmi K20’s “Expensive” Rs 22000 Price Tag Results in a Change.Org Petition, Bidding To Reduce The Cost Of The Newly Launched Phone

A Change (Change.Org) petition has now been started seeking Redmi to cut the price of the Redmi K20 by Rs 2000. This petition has seemingly been started by Redmi loyalists believing that the premium smartphone is overpriced for the key technical specification it offers.  

Though seemingly hilarious, this petition to have the price of the Redmi K20 reduced by Rs 2000, has already been signed by 55 respondents and the target is to get to 100.  

Now, the petition calls for making the Redmi K20 base variant (64GB) to Rs 20000, and the 128GB edition to Rs 22000.  

As of now, the base variant of the Redmi K20 has a Rs 21900 pricing whereas the higher variant (128GB) is priced at Rs 23900. These prices even got Redmi loyalists worked up leading to Xiaomi’s Manu Jain even writing an open letter clarifying on why the relatively high price tag was necessary.  

As far as this Change petition is concerned, its creators believe that the authorities would hear these cries to cut down prices, even if it means waiting for four months. Then, the petition also draws parallels with Realme whose select phones are priced in the Rs 2000 bracket [not exceeding the amount) offering 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage.
