Jio apparently eliminates modestly-priced recharge coupons, check out
Reliance Jio has now seemingly done away with the modestly-priced Rs 19 and Rs 52 prepaid recharge plans. Check out now.
Reliance Jio, which has now made official its charges to levy interconnect usage fee (IUC), has now seemingly done away with the modestly-priced Rs 19 and Rs 52 prepaid recharge plans. At this point in time, Jio users should remember that Jio levies 6 paise per minute as IUC and this is borne by customers making voice calls to other non-Jio networks. This has led to debates in the Indian telecom circle.
Check the Jio recharges, now
Now, as per a Telecom Talk report, the Rs 19 and Rs 52 prepaid plans being apparently scrapped has been a quieter decision, instead of a well-announced one. Hence if you are a Jio user, doc heck if you can access these plans. On our part, we checked with a local retailer (physical) who informed that these plans have been scrapped and do not exist anymore. Both the Rs 19 and Rs 52 prepaid packs were short-term validity plans.
Also, with levying of IUC, it becomes imminent that prepaid customers resort to recharging for extra amounts and thereby choose custom-IUC packs starting from Rs 10. Jio says that it would compensate for the extra recharges, through additional data. This starts from 1GB. In related news, other incumbent telcos such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone-Idea, BSNL have stated that they would keep unlimited calls as these. They would not levy IUYC on customers for now.
In other news, BSNL started trending on micro-blogging site Twitter. This was due to huge expectations that people in India have regarding 4g services from the government-led telco. These trends were “Switch to BSNL” and “BSNL 4G” were hugely trending last week. In this regard, all telcos were also found teasing each other with respect to levying IUC on customers.
