MIUI 11 India release scheduled for Oct 16, alongside Redmi Note 8 Pro

MIUI 11 release date in India: Xiaomi is set to release MIUI 11 Global in India next week, on October 16, along with Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone.

Xiaomi is set to release MIUI 11 Global in India next week. Interestingly, MIUI 11 Global update will be released in India on the same day as the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro India launch has been scheduled for October 11. Xiaomi released a small teaser promo video on Twitter, revealing MIUI 11 is 'coming soon' on October 16. MIUI is the custom software kin developed by Xiaomi on top of Google's Android operating system.

Last month, Xiaomi introduced its next major MIUI update -- the MIUI 11 -- in China. While Xiaomi has already started launching phones in the Chinese market that runs MIUI 11 Global ROM out-of-the-box, for example with devices like Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G, Mi MIX Alpha 5G and Mi AirDots Pro 2. The MIUI 11 India release is slated for October 16, alongside Redmi Note 8 Pro launch in the country.

MIUI 11 features

New dynamic font scaling -- MIUI 11 introduces a new font with dynamic font scaling feature called Milan Pro. Xiaomi offers dynamic font scaling feature. It allows users to adjust font-weight as per their preference using a slider.

New dynamic sound effects -- Xiaomi is also introducing new dynamic sound effects resembling ambient sounds from nature.

New display presets -- Xiaomi is also offering some new always-on display presets. Some new customizability is being added though. You can customise text slogans that will show up on your Xiaomi phone's always-on display. However, this feature is limited to phones with an AMOLED display.

Battery saving feature -- Some new battery saving features being added, offering ways to reduce power consumption by limiting background app activities or in some cases, turning on the dark theme would also help. 

Mi Share -- The cross-brand file transfer technology in collaboration between Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo can be found on MIUI 11. Apart from these new features, some manor visual changes are also expected.
