With Samsung having unveiled a 5G variant of the next-gen Galaxy S10 smartphone which would be an actual smartphone rather than just be restricted to a prototype, it now seems like the 5G war with respect to competition amongst smartphone brands to release 5G-compatible phones has begun, as ZTE has seemingly made its 5G plans clear for the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2019 (MWC).
As per a MyDrivers report (translated), that quotes a seemingly official ZTE poster, the China-based smartphone brand could showcase smartphone(s) compatible with the next-gen wireless networking standards. The report also hints at the possibility of 5G-compatible ZTE Axon phones being launched at the MWC 2019.
At this point in time, OnePlus has also stated officially that it would have a 5G mobile phone prototype to showcase at the MWC 2019 in Barcelona. This handset would be driven by the Snapdragon 855 SoC.
Now, as far as these developments are concerned, there is a definite USP that comes to the fore at this juncture; this is the apparent start of a new trend that could give rise to healthy adaption of 5G technology, and thereby futuristic technology elements to make information sharing hassle-free.
Also, there could be increased 5G emphasis from now on, considering the fact that Samsung’s 5G-enabled Galaxy S10 would also be available to buy in select countries of the world. With the MWC 2019 being a major consumer technology event with exclusive summits dedicated to 5G, the future for consumer technology would undoubtedly be disrupted by the next-gen 5G network standards. However, the impact of setting-up the 5G infrastructure, on the environment is worth talking about before the technology expands widely.
In related 5G updates, multiple wireless carriers in the United States of America (USA) have already resorted to piloting the new-gen technology in select cities. In the UK, EE would partner with OnePlus towards 5G implementation in the country.
