OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren launched, exclusive to T-Mobile in the US

OnePlus has launched its second 5G phone, well sort of. The company recently launched the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro alongside the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren edition but like the OnePlus 7-series, the OnePlus 7T-series did not have a 5G phone. That somewhat changes now as US carrier T-Mobile has announced the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren edition for the North American market. 

The OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren edition is similar to the non-5G OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren edition. There are two differences, however. The OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren edition supports 5G connectivity – well, that was obvious. And it will be exclusive to T-Mobile in the US unless OnePlus has plans to bring it to more markets – which seems unlikely at this point of time. T-Mobile is yet to announce pricing, carrier plans and availability specifics of the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren edition. 

OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren edition specs and features

The OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition has a tweaked design inspired by McLaren’s papaya orange accents. The OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition also comes with a custom-made Alcantara case in the box. This edition of the OnePlus 7T Pro also gets 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Rest of the deal stays put as the vanilla OnePlus 7T Pro.   

The biggest highlight of the OnePlus 7T Pro – and resultantly, the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition – is its next-generation core hardware and faster charging tech, and the fact that it’s being claimed to be the first smartphone in the world to ship with Android 10 (based OxygenOS 10) software out-of-the-box. This means that the OnePlus 7T Pro - OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition – is powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 855+ processor and supports OnePlus’s Warp Charge 30T tech.   

The OnePlus 7T Pro has a 6.65-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. On to the cameras, the OnePlus 7T Pro comes with three rear cameras – a 48MP main, an 8MP telephoto for 3x zoom, and a 16MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, the OnePlus 7T Pro has a 16MP camera. The phone is further backed by a 4,085mAh battery. 

The OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage has been launched in India for Rs 58,999.
