Samsung is said to be readying as many as nine Galaxy A phones for India (and China) and while names and specifications of these phones remains a mystery, a new leak sheds some light on what could be one of these offerings. Chassis renders of a phone called the Galaxy A50 have surfaced online, giving a first-hand look at what could be in store from Samsung.
Samsung has shown intent that it is no longer going to limit flagship innovations to its more premiere Galaxy S and Galaxy Note line-up. It will bring them to a relatively more mainstream price segment through its Galaxy A phones first from time to time. The Galaxy A7 is a classic example. It is a mid-range phone with triple rear cameras. The Galaxy A50 will also ship with three rear cameras, if the leaked renders are anything to go by. That won’t be the only highlight of the Galaxy A50 though.
The renders seem to suggest that the Galaxy A50 will also come with an Infinity-V teardrop notch like the one found in the newly launched Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 phones. Moreover, the lack of a fingerprint sensor cutout also hints at an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, something this is also rumoured for the upcoming flagship Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ phones. Brands like Vivo (through the Vivo V11 Pro) and Honor (through the Honor 10) have shown that it is possible to bring in-display fingerprint scanning tech to the masses, and the Galaxy A50 could follow suit in the days to come.
Rumoured specs of the Samsung Galaxy A50 include: Exynos 9610 processor with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB software, Android Pie software, 24MP front camera, and 4,000mAh battery with USB Type-C charging.
Since Samsung is yet to make any sort of official confirmation about the Galaxy A50 or any of its nine upcoming Galaxy A phones, we suggest you take this piece of information with a pinch of salt.
As mentioned earlier, the company is said to be working on nine Galaxy A devices and is looking to launch them in the first half of 2019. The nine models are codenamed SM-A105, SM-A202, SM-A205, SM-A260, SM-A305, SM-A405, SM-A505, SM-A705 and SM-A905. Sadly, that is all we know about them for now. There is no word on hardware specs, nor design. The Galaxy A50 leak is a good start though.
