Samsung has launched the Galaxy A90 5G phone in Korea. Not only does it support 5G connectivity – which is obvious from the naming – the Galaxy A90 5G is also Samsung’s most high-end Galaxy A-series phone to date. It’s a proper flagship actually. The Galaxy A90 5G seems to be a Korea-exclusive affair for now, but Samsung has confirmed it “will expand to additional markets thereafter.” That said, it’s highly unlikely that Samsung will launch the Galaxy A90 5G in India anytime soon.
Samsung Galaxy A90 5G - a high-end phone
As mentioned earlier, the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G is a high-end phone, its biggest USP being its flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. This is paired with 6GB and 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. For some reason, only the 6GB RAM variant of the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G supports expandable storage. There’s a 4,500mAh battery powering the whole thing with support for 25W fast charging.
On to the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G has a triple camera setup on the rear – a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree field-of-view, and a 5MP depth sensor for portrait photography. On the front, the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G has a 32MP camera.
A familiar design
The design scheme is familiar if you've crossed paths with recent Galaxy A phones although Samsung is using a dual-tone color scheme to make the Galaxy A90 G5 stand out. The phone will be available in white and black color options.
The Galaxy A90 5G has a 6.7-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display with Infinity-U dewdrop-style notch and in-display fingerprint scanner.
“We’re excited about the success of the Galaxy A Series – a generation of smartphones built for the new Era of Live that focuses on essential features people want the most, including a high-quality camera, long-lasting battery and immersive display. Samsung has worked tirelessly with our partners in the 5G ecosystem to bring 5G to as many people as possible, and now we are offering 5G connectivity across the entire Galaxy smartphone portfolio, giving more people high speed access and connected experiences,” DJ Koh, who is President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics, said in a press statement.
Samsung is yet to announce the price of the Galaxy A90 5G.
