Samsung Galaxy M30s coming to India on Sep 18 with 6,000mAh battery

The biggest highlight of the Galaxy M30s is said to be its ginormous 6,000mAh battery – the Galaxy M30 had a 5,000mAh pack.

Samsung has confirmed that it will officially launch the Galaxy M30s in India on September 18, and it has also revealed what the phone will look like, alongside a few key specs. The Galaxy M30s will look a lot like the Galaxy M30 from the front as well as from the back which isn’t surprising since it seems to be some sort of upgraded variant of that phone – basis of the naming. The biggest highlight of the Galaxy M30s is said to be its ginormous 6,000mAh battery – the Galaxy M30 had a 5,000mAh pack.  

Three cameras and 6000mAh battery

Basis of renders shared by Samsung on Amazon India, the Galaxy M30s seems all set to retain the company’s gradation design scheme. The phone will come an Infinity U-shaped notch atop a Super AMOLED display panel. On the back there will be three cameras and a physical fingerprint reader for biometric authentication. By the looks of it, the Galaxy M30s looks all set to become the first affordable M-series phone to come with a 48MP main camera.

Rumored specs of the Galaxy M30s include a 6.4-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display and an Exynos 9610/9611 processor paired with up to 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. Software should be Android 9 Pie-based OneUI. Samsung is likely to launch the Galaxy M30s in India at a price in between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 – in line with the punch-hole toting Galaxy M40.  

A quick refresh of the Galaxy M30 specs – the Galaxy M30 which was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 14,990 comes with a 6.4-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with a 1080p+ resolution, an Exynos 7904 processor with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage, a 5,000mAh battery with 15W USB Type-C fast charging support, and Android 8.1 Oreo-based Samsung Experience 9.5 UI (now upgradable to Android Pie). On to the cameras, the Galaxy M30 has three rear cameras -- a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture, a 5MP depth sensor and another 5MP ultra-wide sensor with 123-degree field of view. On the front, the Galaxy M30 comes with a 16MP camera.
