Vivo launched the online-exclusive U10 budget phone in India in September. On November 22, it will launch its successor, aka the U20. Ahead of launch, Amazon India has started teasing the Vivo U20 with a dedicated landing page revealing the phone’s design as well as a few hardware specs.
The U20 will look a lot like the U10 in design with what looks like a plastic back with a glossy light-bending finish. There will be a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication and triple rear cameras. On the front, the U20 will come with a waterdrop-style notch – like the U10.
In terms of core hardware, the U20 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM. Storage isn't explicitly mentioned but the listing confirms that the Vivo U20 will feature UFS2.1 storage like the Realme XT and Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro. More details are awaited.
To recap, the Vivo U10 has a 6.35-inch HD+ or 720p+ display with a waterdrop-style notch. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor paired with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage which is also expandable.
On to the cameras, the U10 comes with three rear cameras – a 13MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth camera for portrait photography. On the front, the U10 comes with an 8MP camera.
The main USP of the phone is its sizeable 5,000mAh battery though which is claimed to offer up to 7 hours of PUBG playback on single charge. The phone also supports 18W fast charging which is claimed to offer up to 4.5 hours of talk time on a 10-minute charge.
Speaking of design, the U10 has a plastic exterior – a plastic glossy one like the one seen in Vivo’s other budget phones like the S1 and Z1 Pro. The phone is available in two colours – electric blue and thunder black.
The Vivo U10 currently sells in India at a price of Rs 8,599.
