Vivo is launching its new camera centric V17 Pro phone in India on Friday and while it has the same core hardware as its predecessor, the V15 Pro, this one’s a comprehensive update on all front – making it the most exciting V-series phone the company has launched to date. The V17 Pro has a new glass sandwich design, a Super AMOLED display with bare minimum bezels on all sides, as many as six cameras, and a sizeable battery with fast charging.  

The main USP of the Vivo V17 Pro, as mentioned earlier, is its cameras – there are in fact six cameras in all on offer here. Four on the back and two on the front. The dual front cameras are particularly interesting since this is the first time any company has launched a phone with dual pop up selfie cameras. Vivo was perhaps the first to start the trend of pop up selfie cams - the V15 Pro also had one. With the V17 Pro, you can say, Vivo has taken another leap forward. The V17 Pro not only ships with two front cameras, there’s also a dedicated flash for low-light scenarios. 

Vivo V17 Pro specs and features 

Speaking of specs, the Vivo V17 Pro comes with a 6.44-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display with Schott Xensation UP glass protection. There’s also an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor (which is same as the V15 Pro) paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. The dual SIM phone runs Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.1. The V17 Pro further packs a sizeable 4,100mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. 

On to the cameras, the Vivo V17 Pro comes with four rear cameras – a 48MP main camera (Sony IMX582) with f/1.8 aperture, a 13MP telephoto camera for 2x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 120-degree field of view, and another 2MP sensor for portrait photography. On the front, the V17 Pro comes with dual cameras - a 32MP main camera and an 8MP super-wide-angle camera.      

Speaking of design, the V17 Pro has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on the back and will be available in two gradient colors - Glacier Ice and Midnight Ocean. 

Vivo V17 Pro India price and availability 

Vivo has launched the V17 Pro in India at a price of Rs 29,990 for the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The V17 Pro will go on sale starting September 27 on Amazon India, Flipkart, Vivo’s e-store and all offline channels across the country.
