If you are a Vodafone user, having subscribed to the telco’s prepaid plans, then do check for a new 100% cashback offer that is apparently live for specific recharge denominations; across multiple telecom regions in the country. These prepaid plans are combo offers that let users indulge in continuous calling along with being able to use an average of 1.4GB 4G/3G data on a daily basis.
As per a TelecomTalk report, you should be able to check out the 100% cashback offer on recharges of Rs 399, Rs 509, and Rs 458 respectively; through the MyVodafone app. If these offers are reflecting for your prepaid number in your telecom circle (within MyVodafone), then upon recharge you should be given vouchers with Rs 50 value that could be used to avail discounts on future recharges.
For the Rs 458 recharge, you should be seeded as many as nine Rs 50 discount coupons that you could use for future recharges. Similarly, the Rs 509 and Rs 399 plans should offer ten and eight Rs 50 discount coupons respectively.
As far as telecom circles are concerned, you could check MyVodafone app for the above offers within your circles and let us know if the scheme is live. You could keep checking MyVodafone app on a regular basis.
At this instant in time, these offers are being viewed (by the general mobile phone users community in India as a whole) as directly competing with Reliance Jio’s prepaid plans that also offer cashback on select prepaid recharges. Also, it is worth noting that Vodafone India and Idea Cellular recently announced completion of their merger - to be known as Vodafone Idea; swelling up their subscriber base.
Mukesh Ambani-led Jio has also increased its market share to nearly 21%, as per statistics obtained during the month of August 2018. The telco recently announced its JioPhone 2 - an iteration to the JioPhone feature phone; that could also lead to increased penetration of 4G-LTE connectivity within the tier-3 and completely rural areas of the country.
Hence, it becomes for incumbent telcos to competitively price their offerings so that users could make informed choices before switching over to newer networking standards in India.
