Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro design revealed ahead of November 5 launch
Xiaomi will launch its 108MP five-camera phone, aka Mi CC9 Pro, in China on November 5.
Xiaomi will launch its 108MP five-camera phone, aka Mi CC9 Pro, in China on November 5. Key design elements of the Mi CC9 Pro have been revealed via two separate sources on Weibo, while a new TENAA listing just gave out the phone’s hardware – in almost its entirety. Even though the Mi CC9 Pro is expected to be a mid-ranger, its purported specs would put many high-end flagships to shame.
Let’s start with the design. It looks like the Mi CC9 Pro is set to get the all-glass treatment – which won’t be surprising considering that Xiaomi sells an all-glass phone (with plastic frame) in India for as low as Rs 9,999. The Mi CC9 Pro will be available in green although this one looks different from the gamma green Redmi Note 8 Pro – the gradient on the back is a lot more subtle. On the front, the Mi CC9 Pro will come with a curved display – reminiscent to the company’s Mi Note lineup. The Mi CC9 Pro is likely to be rebranded as the Mi Note 10 for global markets.
The Mi CC9 Pro is further expected to come with a waterdrop-style notch and an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro rumoured specs
Rumoured specs of the Mi CC9 Pro, as per the TENAA listing, include a 6.47-inch OLED display with a 1080p+ resolution. The phone is said to be powered by a 2.2GHz processor – quite possibly the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G – paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. Software inside is said to be Android 9 Pie-based MIUI. The phone is further said to pack a ginormous 5,170mAh battery.
The Mi CC9 Pro should be Xiaomi’s first mainstream phone with a 108MP camera – not counting the limited concept Mi Mix Alpha here. That’s not all, the Mi CC9 Pro will come with as many as five rear cameras. While details of the four other cameras are unknown, one of the cameras will use a telephoto lens capable of 5x optical zoom. The Mi CC9 Pro will also come with two flash modules on the rear. As for that primary 108MP camera, the Mi CC9 Pro will pack Samsung’s 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX image sensor.
