Xiaomi is bringing back the Mi Note, two years after abandoning the lineup for reasons unknown. Xiaomi has confirmed that it will launch the Mi Note 10 – successor to 2017’s Mi Note 3 – in global markets soon. The phone in question is being claimed to be the world’s first smartphone with a 1080MP penta camera setup, If all this sounds familiar to you, it may be for a good reason. The Mi Note 10 seems to be the global variant of the Mi CC9 Pro which is set to be launched in China on November 5.

Xiaomi has already confirmed that the Mi CC9 Pro will come with a 108MP five-camera setup on the rear and while it hasn’t explicitly said that it is rebranding it for global markets as the Mi Note 10 – there's a high possibility that it is. The 108MP penta cameras is one hint of course. The other comes in the form of design. Xiaomi’s Mi Note phones were doing curved screens when not many were doing curved screens. Basis of renders shared by Xiaomi, the Mi CC9 Pro will also come with a curved display – reminiscent to the company’s Mi Note lineup.

The Mi Note 3, which was launched in 2017 alongside the original Mi Mix, came with a 5.5-inch 1080p ISP LCD curved display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor paired with 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. The phone came with dual 12MP rear cameras and a 16MP selfie shooter. Under the hood, it came with a 3,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The Mi Note 3 also came with stereo speakers.

That said, the Mi Note has always been a China-only affair. India has never got it. But looks like Xiaomi is changing things with the Mi Note 10. While it still isn’t confirmed if the Mi Note 10 will be coming to India, at this point of time, the phone launching in global markets is a major shift in strategy for the lineup. This is because the Mi Note has always been about spectacular design and good specs at attractive prices, but limited availability meant it was hard to get for most buyers outside of China. The Mi Note 10 will change that.
