Meta slashes Quest 2 headsets and accessories rates

Meta’s Quest 2 now cheaper: Meta has implemented a permanent price reduction for its Quest 2 virtual reality headset, slashing the cost by $50 across its 128GB and 256GB versions. Previously available at discounted rates since Black Friday, the 128GB variant now retails at $249, down from $299, while the 256GB model is priced at $299, reduced from $349.

Alongside the headset, Meta has also revised the pricing for several Quest 2 accessories. The Quest 2 Elite Strap with a battery now costs $89.99, reduced from its earlier price of $119.99. The standalone Quest 2 Elite Strap has been discounted from $59.99 to $49.99. 

Additionally, the Quest 2 Carrying Case sees a price drop from $59.99 to $44.99. The Quest 2 Active Pack is now available at $59.99, down from $69.99, while the Quest 2 Fit Pack is priced at $39.99, reduced from $49.99.

This move follows Meta's earlier price adjustments; in July 2022, the Quest 2's price had increased by $100 to $399.99, only to revert to $299.99 upon the Quest 3's announcement last June. Meta's expansive VR game library, boasting over 500 titles, gained traction with Roblox's integration into the Meta Quest Store last year. The revised pricing strategy for the Quest 2 aims to make VR more accessible, potentially enticing consumers with a more budget-friendly alternative to the $500 Quest 3.
