Pizza Hut Launches New PS5 Accessory to Let Gamers Enjoy Warm Pizza

Pizza Hut, the multinational pizza restaurant chain, has a new idea for repurposing the Sony PlayStation 5. Its new PS5 accessory gives gamers a new way to relish eating warm pizzas, bringing them even closer to the world of gaming. Pizza Hut's PIZZAWRMR is an attachment that goes on top of the console to channel its heat to keep pizza slices warm.

PIZZAWRMR, however, is not a physical accessory readily available for users but a concept available to anyone who signs up on Pizza Hut Canada's website for free. The restaurant chain will provide interested users files that they can use to 3D print their own PIZZAWRMR. They can even modify the design to suit their preferred customisations. According to Pizza Hut, PIZZAWRMR is designed to accommodate several pizza slices, but users can also keep and warm other flat-surfaced food on it.

The PIZZAWRMR's diagram on the restaurant chain's website shows how the accessory redirects the flow of heat from the console's exhaust to under and into the area where pizzas are kept. The diagram is available as part of a package that also includes downloadable STL files and a PDF guide to help users 3D print the accessory. There are files for the body, left stand, lid, manifold, and a stand, which can be 3D printed individually and assembled to bring PIZZAWRMR to reality. Pizza Hut has noted in the PDF guide that the design is "specifically engineered to be compatible only with the console that has rear ventilation measuring 11.7x1.31 inches." That also defines the dimensions of the 3D printer users would require.

Since the accessory involves the use of non-edible materials, Pizza Hut has urged PS5 owners to proceed with caution and use food-safe PLA to print the parts to prevent plastic-related health hazards. It has also warned users of the dangers of overheating and the likeliness of bits and pieces of pizza sticking to the console. Needless to say, the PS5 console needs to be warm to warm up the PIZZAWRMR, so some gaming time is necessary before pizzas start to heat up.
