Recently, Facebook's photo and video-sharing social networking service Instagram cracked down on more than 142 million memers' account without any prior notice or explanation. While Instagrammers were left clueless by this sudden crackdown on accounts that share memes, the company spokesperson told the Atlantic those accounts were disabled following violations of Instagram's policies including "attempted abuse" of its "internal processes."

While we still can't figure out what it means, Instagram certainly doesn't want to lose those memers. Experts believe meme accounts attract growing interest and maximum engagement on Instagram, bigger than influencers.

Reports say Instagram may be looking to hire someone who is a meme expert. This way Facebook-owned platform is probably looking to get rid of some of the shortcomings (such as so-called attempted abuse of Instagram's internal processes) that may be involved with accounts that post memes - for some reason or the other. The ideal candidate should also be well-versed with youth culture and content on Instagram.
