How to use Google Maps to reserve a table at your favourite restaurant

But did you know you can also book a table at your favourite restaurant using Google Maps? In this article, we are going to demonstrate a step-by-step procedure on how to reserve a table at a restaurant using Google Maps.

How to reserve a table at a restaurant using Google Maps

Step 1: Open the Google Maps app on your phone

Step 2: Search for the restaurant you want to book a table at

Step 3: Open the restaurant listing

Step 4: Find an option called 'Reserve a table'

Step 5: Tap the option to proceed

Step 6: Select the number of people joining the party

Step 7: Select the preferred date and time slot

Step 8:  Enter your contact details to reserve

Post successful reservation, you will receive a confirmation popup. You will also receive an email with your booking ID. You will need to flash your booking ID at the restaurant to avail your reserved table.

How to cancel your booking

Step 1: Go to https://www.google.com/maps/reserve

Step 2: At the top left corner, click on the hamburger menu

Step 3: Navigate to Bookings > Upcoming

Step 4: Tap on the booking you want to cancel

Step 5: You will find an option to cancel your reservation

Step 6: Click on the 'Cancel' option

Step 7: Confirm if you want to cancel your reservation

Step 8: You will receive a cancellation email

You could make reservations again if you cancelled by mistake. Remember, you cannot have more than three active reservations on your Google account. Restaurant reservations are limited to select restaurants, cities and countries.
