How to watch Netflix with your friends online in real-time

Netflix viewing doesnt always have to be a solo experience you can now watch Netflix together with your friends online. This tool called Netflix Party allows users to watch synchronized Netflix videos together with their friends online and also chat with them in real-time.

Netflix Party sounds a lot similar to Facebook's Watch Party feature that allows users to host a 'Watch Party' and watch Facebook videos together with friends. Not just that, as we mentioned, this tool also allows Netflix users to chat with their friends during the 'Party'.

Netflix Party: How does it work

As the name suggests, the 'Netflix Party' tool synchronises video playback and adds a group chat option to a show or a movie you are looking to watch with your friends together. The access to Netflix Party is limited to Google Chrome users. All you need to do is install Netflix Party Chrome extension on your browser, open a video in Netflix and either create or join the party created by other users.

How to set up Netflix Party

Step 1: You need to install the Netflix Party extension on your Google Chrome. But first, go to netflixparty.com website and click on the 'Install Netflix Party' button at the top right corner of your screen.

Step 2: Once you are redirected to the Chrome Web Store, you will find an option to add the 'Netflix' party extension to Google Chrome. Click on the 'Add to Chrome' at the top right corner.

Step 3: Once the 'Netflix Party' Chrome extension is successfully installed to Google Chrome, go to Netflix website. Now, select the video you would like to watch with your friends.

Step 4: Once the video starts playing, click on the 'Netflix Party (NP)' icon located next to Chrome's address bar. You will then to create Netflix Party by sharing required details.

Step 5: Click the 'Start Party' option to start the party. Now, share the party URL to invite friends to join the Netflix Party you just created.

Step 6: To join a party, all you need to do is click on the party URL, which will redirect to Netflix's website. Then click on the 'NP' button next to the address bar, and you should automatically join the party.
