Facebook-owned photo and video-sharing app Instagram could be working on expanding its user base in India, according to screenshots shared by an app researcher Jane Manchun Wong. Screenshots indicate that Instagram would soon support the Hindi language. As a result, users can expect to see post captions, comments, setting menu and profile information in Hindi.

As per statistics found on statista.com, Instagram has 71 million users from India as of October 2018. India is ranked number 2 following the U.S. with 121 million users. So, it makes sense for Instagram to look at India as part of its growth efforts in the future. This move is going to help the social media giant in gaining a lot more customers in India. How to write Instagram post captions and comments in Hindi right now

Step 1: Go to Google Play Store for Android and search for an app called ‘Google Indic Keyboard.’ Once you locate the app, install it on your smartphone. iOS users can download Google Keyboard (Gboard) that supports the Hindi language.

Step 2: Next up, you need to setup Google keyboard on your smartphone. We will demonstrate the procedure for Android users in this article. Open Google Indic Keyboard app on your phone. You will be prompted to enable it in settings.

Step 3: In language and input settings, you will find all the keyboards installed on your phone. Simply locate the Google Indic Keyboard app and activate it by switching the slider (These settings may vary depending on the OEM).

Step 4: Once you activate the Google Indic Keyboard, you will be asked to confirm whether you want to use as the input method. Tap ‘Ok.’ Once you activate your input method, you have to select Google Indic Keyboard as your default input method.

Step 5: Now, go to Instagram and open the comment box. You can switch to Google Indic Keyboard and select Hindi as your default language. Google Indic keyboard supports multiple local languages. You can select any language you want and proceed.

Step 6: Assuming that you have successfully activated the Google Indic keyboard, you should see an option to write your post comments and captions in Hindi.
