Instagram introduces a new feature, Close Friends: How to share your Instagram stories only with your closest friends 

Ever wondered if you could limit your Instagram audience? Your Instagram stories are visible to all your followers, and up until now, you couldn't share your Instagram stories with a particular set of audience. Sure, you could share stories with individual users but that may not have necessarily been the ideal solution for everyone.

To address this issue, Instagram today announced a new feature that lets users share Instagram stories with their close friends' list. If you are interested, we show you how you can share an Instagram story with your close friends’ list:

How to share a story with close friends on Instagram

Step 1: Ensure that you have an updated Instagram installed on your smartphone. All Android and iPhone users can do is manually check for the update through either Google’s Play Store or Apple App Store.

Step 2: Once your Instagram app is updated to the latest version, you need to create a close friends list so that you can share a story with only the people on your close friends list.

Step 3: Go to Instagram app. Login if you have not signed into your Instagram app for some reason. Once you login to your Instagram account, you can create the close friends list.

Step 4: Tap the profile icon in the bottom right. Once you have opened your profile, click on the hamburger menu in the top right. Tap the option called “Close Friends.”

Step 5: You’ll come across the list of your followers to choose from in order to add them to your close friends list. Tap the option called Add next to those who you want to be in your Close Friends list.

Step 6: Tap the option Done.

Step 7: Next up, you have to create a story. Go to Instagram home feed. Tap the camera icon in the top left. Tap the gear icon in top left. Once you are ready to share your status, tap Close Friends in the bottom left.
