Booking your tickets while sitting at home is made simpler thanks to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). You can now book your train tickets from your mobile phone, in just a few minutes. You can use the IRCTC website or application software (app), to do so. The first and foremost thing is to download the application on the mobile handset. This mobile application is working on most of the GPRS/browser-based mobile smart-phones; right from the basic models to the high-end ones.
Steps for booking railway reserved ticket on IRCTC application from mobile phone
- The first step is to log in to URL ‘irctc.co.in/mobile’ with the IRCTC user id and password ( if it exists) or download the IRCTC application.
- After logging in, click on ‘Plan my Journey’ under the option for ‘Train Ticketing’.
- Then, select the date of your journey, train and continue with the booking.
- You will find two options- use the existing passenger list and add passengers. Select add passengers.
- Furthermore, just confirm the booking details and make the payment with credit card/debit card/ UPI/paytm, etc.
- After you’re done booking the ticket, you will receive a reservation message that contains full details of the ticket. The ticket you receive will include your PNR, train number, date of journey, class, etc. During travelling, the message of the confirmed ticket received on your mobile phone should be enough to be counted as a sufficient ticket.
