Delhi is the home to many tourist destinations like India Gate, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid, Lodhi Garden and much more, and Google Maps is one true friend of every traveler exploring the city. But sometimes looking forward to information on Google Maps can be an entertaining experience. Of late, people living in Delhi's Ghazipur area are up to something really interesting on Google Maps that has caught the attention of the rest of the internet.

One lesser-known place called 'Mountain of Garbage' has a better rating and reviews on Google Maps than most tourist destinations around the city. As its name suggests, 'Mountain of Garbage' is where all the garbage and waste generated in East Delhi, Central Delhi and Old Delhi is dumped. All these reviews and ratings on Google Maps are simply part of creative and collective efforts led by Ghazipur residents to vent out their outrage.

At the time of writing this, Mountain of Garbage has 4.5-star rating out of 5. The listing has so far generated over 500 reviews and ratings on Google Maps. But apart from these ratings, what's even more interesting are the reviews. One person said:

"Wow! I was looking for tourist places in and around Delhi and i found this as the most unique place. I think this place is best for those who love nature and like watching mountains and smelling fresh air. The tourist department must provide facilities for the tourists, especially for foreigners who have come (to) India to know our great glories. You must visit 'The Great Great Mountain of Garbage', an emerging tourist place."

Another user said:

"It is as good as they say it is. Truly magnificent and a captivating sight in India. You can't take your eyes off of it no matter what time, place or angle you look at it from. I did not have the pleasure to ascend it, but was able to observe it from the ground. Truly a Wonder."

The frequently asked questions (FAQs) section is equally humourous.

"Yes, airplane is also available," someone answered responding to a question whether this place has Ola or taxi facility service available.

Clearly, people of Gazipur are not happy with 'Mountain of Garbage.' Last year, two people had died when a huge chunk of the Ghazipur landfill collapsed and this pile of garbage may eventually match Qutub Minar’s height.
