Zomato, Swiggy among top food delivery apps worldwide for Q2 2019: Sensor Tower

Indian food delivery apps such as Swiggy and Zomato are among the top apps food delivery apps worldwide for Q2 2019 by downloads, as per Sensor Tower's report. Both Swiggy and Zomato have made it to the list of top food delivery apps for Q2 2019, following UberEats.

Swiggy and Zomato have secured the number 2 and number 3 spots respectively for overall downloads across platforms whereas UberEats managed to secure the first spot for App Store. Meanwhile, Zomato became the most downloaded food delivery app on Google Play Store worldwide for the second quarter. Interestingly, neither Swiggy nor Zomato made it to the list of top 10 most downloaded food delivery apps on the App Store globally during the stipulated period.

Meanwhile, UberEats emerged as the leader for overall downloads across platforms with more than 23 million installs, resulting in a 98 per cent increase from the same period last year. In terms of the number of installs for UberEats, India led the charts with the majority of installs, securing 22 per cent total downloads during Q2 2019, followed by the US at 19 per cent.

Following UberEats, Zomato was the second most installed food delivery app worldwide in Q2 with more than 18 million installs, representing more than twice the growth from the same period last year. Again, India saw the highest number of installs at 93 per cent. Meanwhile, apps such as Swiggy, Rappi and DoorDash rounded out the top five most installed food delivery apps worldwide for the quarter.
