Zomato has now called, on social media, for its netizens and patrons to “Save Water” otherwise it would be impossible to make “tea”! This call on social media is a tad unconventional which has seemingly been observed in most of the online food ordering/delivery application’s (app) tweets of late. Not too long ago, the app was apparently “hilariously angry” at some other online entities for posting tweets on similar lines as that of itself.

Twitterati is truly in splits

Zomato’s “save water – for tea” tweet resulted in truly hilarious tweets from netizens; now, check out Zomato’s “save water” tweet below:

Twitterati replied with hilarious aspects (to the above tweet) such as "Save Tree (along with an interesting caption-tagline)", “Eat Homemade foods. Save Money,” “Pure doodh ki chai pi lenge”, and more. Check out Twitterati’s split reactions below:

In summary, Zomato’s save water tweet, despite all the hilarious reactions from Twitterati, comes at a time when the city of Chennai has been struggling to fulfil water needs of its citizens. Very recently, a water train carried water supplies. Hence, Zomato’s latest tweet potentially find relevance in this scenario and to all Indian citizens.

Finally, in related updates, Zomato and Swiggy online food ordering/delivery apps received acclaim from users (number of downloads) during the Q 2019 time period; these have been placed amongst the major food delivery services (online) by a research carried out by Sensor Tower.
