Amazon Prime Day now seems to have surpassed records with the total sales witnessed during the event even reportedly surpassing that of the two Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Amazon stated that Prime Subscribers bought nearly 175 million goods during the Prime Days. Amazon Prime Days was held across 18 countries in the world.

“We want to thank Prime members all around the world,” stated Amazon Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jeff Bezos, in a media statement.

The notable devices, that sold highly, during the Prime Days were the Alexa-enabled gadgets.

“Members purchased millions of Alexa-enabled devices, received tens of millions of dollars in savings by shopping from Whole Foods Market and bought more than $2 billion of products from independent small and medium-sized businesses. Huge thank you to Amazonians everywhere who made this day possible for customers,” added Bezos.

Though there have been no specific sales figures revealed by Amazon as of now, analysts have estimated this number to lie in the $6 billion range. This is huge considering the fact that Amazon’s Prime Service has turned out to be popular and in countries like India, subscribers could also watch streams of all their favourite movies in HD quality.

In India, an Amazon Prime (Video) membership costs Rs 129 per month or Rs 999 for the whole year. The platform also streams multilingual content and of late has started to offer a multilingual user interface (UI) as well.
