Apple is gearing to launch the iPhone 11 lineup on September 10. The lineup is widely speculated to have three new iPhones – the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. While all the three seemingly upcoming iPhones have leaked extensively, another product that’s likely to launch alongside, hasn’t leaked like at all – which is surprising considering how things are with new tech these days. The product in question is the next Apple Watch, which is likely to be called the Apple Watch Series 5.
Well until now, there were rumors that Apple maybe looking to launch two new Apple Watch Series 5 models with updated build materials – with core hardware tipped to remain more or less the same. Now, a new leak suggests that as many as four new Apple Watch Series 5 models may be in development and Apple may launch them on September 10 alongside the iPhone 11.
The Details
The piece of information comes from a leaked document titled “Apple Software Development Resources” which is apparently meant for use by Apple employees, its engineering team, retailers and contractors. The leaked document gives us a tentative look at the Cupertino major’s hardware and software release cycle for the year 2019. According to the leaked document, Apple is prepping four new Apple Watch Series 5 models with codenames A2156, A2157, A2092 and A2093.

We are still going through the document, & will share the leaks & new info in a few minutes pic.twitter.com/7qGFvu78kC
Core hardware specifics do not make a mention in the leaked document, but it does reveal the software side of things. Unsurprisingly, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 5 models will ship with watchOS 6 0ut-of-the-box – with watchOS 6.1 due sometime in October.
Apple maybe prepping a sleep tracking feature, internally codenamed Burrito, that it may announce at the September 10 keynote event. It isn’t exactly clear if Apple is looking to bring sleep tracking to all Apple Watch devices through a software update or if it would launch it first with the Apple Watch Series 5, on September 10, and then subsequently bring it to other devices in the lineup.
