CES 2019: Kiki Can Be Programmed To Love You
Drake can take it easy as one of the latest creation showcased at the CES 2019 is Zoetic Kiki, a robotic pet that is programmed to love you. Of late, people irrespective of professions have been anxious as well as ambitious about technology such as robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) dealing a blow to multiple human aspects viz jobs. Now, it seem like human life itself is under the threat! (pun intended) of augmentation.
A latest creation in the augmentation regard is the Zoetic Kiki which is an AI-powered pet that is also a robot (could it be called petoid - similar to humanoid concept). USP of the Kiki is that it said to love its masters back. The pet robot would serve as companions to humans; kindle it, pamper it and cuddle as you like. Kiki incorporates as many as 16 sensor throughout its frame that should recognize your touch. There is also a 4-microphone array with echo-cancellation for the robot to recognize your voice and related audio.
There is more, a Kiki can communicate with another Kiki via Bluetooth. On paper, it is seemingly intuitive to check out a pet robot that acts in the same way as pets with life (not AI, but NI - natural intelligence). A prototype of Kiki showcased was showcased at the CES 2019; it is not known if these would ship as of now or not; but at this juncture, the question as to whether investing in a good companion possessing natural life would offer companionship to human beings? Or would investment in a pet robot with artificial intelligence yield in better satisfaction and happiness; is a sixty-four-thousand dollar question at this juncture.
In CES 2019 related developments, the event has witnessed deeper 5G integration within devices, major companies have reiterated their commitment towards making 5G a reality in 2019. In the event, there are exclusive tracks focusing on 5G, and futuristic aspect such as AI, smart cities, and smart automotives. Hence, these concepts are impressive on paper; but deployment is still seemingly a challenge as of now.

CES 2019: Panasonic Introduces ETrain Concept For Travelling Office, OLED TV,Electric Vehicles And AI-driven HomeX
Japanese electronics brand Panasonic has kick-started its CES 2019 campaign in style by focusing multiple aspects. These should offer consumer technology enthusiasts lots to cheer about.
The most notable aspect as far as Panasonic is concerned is the standard electric train called the 4BV ePowertrain platform which can be fitted with cabins to create what could potentially be termed as a “smart raveling office”, or even a food delivery vehicle. The 48V ePowerTrain is an electric train engine concept which could make mundane processes smarter.
Then, there are the High Resolution Power Mode and High Dynamic Still Range photo modes to the Panasonic Lumix S1and Lumix S1R cameras; that would hit users shortly. At this juncture, it is worth remembering that the Panasonic Lumix S1 and Lumix S1R are both mirror-less cameras.
Now, not to lie behind in the Smart TV race, Panasonic has announced at CES 2019 the GZ2000 OLED TV that is seemingly custom-made for content creators and those dealing with graphics-heavy multimedia projects.
With respect to connected mobility, Panasonic has re-iterated its focus in the area and the company’s Chief Executive Officer Tom Gebhardt stated that the area has been a key focus.
“In a human-centric model, value is found by integrating devices and service into a solution that meets the needs of the user,” stated Yoshiyuki Miyabe who is CTO at Panasonic Corporation.
Finally, it also seems like Panasonic would join the Internet-of-Things bandwagon considering the fact that the company has made public its plans to launch its HomeX which is a connected home smart structure complete with integration with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company has also seemingly completed its focus on electric motorcycles; by announcing partnerships with Harley Davidson for the Livewire Connected electric motorcycles. Pre-orders for these electric vehicles have currently gone live on the official Harley Davidson online portal. With respect to electric vehicles, there are also Panasonic and Kent bicycles driven electric bikes powered by custom-made Panasonic motors and batteries.
